|I don’t usually toot my own horn, mostly because it’s a broken horn and there’s not usually much to toot about, however, yesterday, I got a surprise.
I entered a Writer’s Digest short story competition so long ago, I scarcely remember entering it. The month they were to announce the winners came and went and nothing…so, I figured I’d just chalk it up to experience. But then I got THIS IN THE MAIL!!
|I don’t even care that it’s not first place. It’s just nice to get some recognition. I really don’t enter that many contests, this is only the second WD one I’ve entered, and this story was the first #fridayflash piece I ever did. It was well received or maybe people were just being nice. I’m not entirely sure, but in any event, it gave me the confidence to put it in the contest and of course, to keep moving forward. Because that’s what it’s all about.
So a HUGE thank you for reading this blog and my #fridayflash friends. Seriously, without the encouragement of ALL of my writing friends from face to face groups to online ones, I’d still be hemming and hawing about even sending a story in. So thank you, thank you. Now let’s all keep moving forward together.
