Well, I’m back, again. No, this isn’t an April Fool’s joke. I hope you enjoyed the guest posts I had in the meantime. The good news continues to be that I’ve been working on my various projects, really writing and editing. That’s why the coffee cup has been empty and the clikety-clack sound of the keyboard has not been heard. For that, I’m grateful.
I am not pleased however at my lack of blogging. But with all of my creative power going to my writing, frankly, I didn’t have much left for the blog. But that has changed. I’ve signed up for…drum roll…a blog challenge. Specifically, the A-Z blog challenge, where all month, I’ll blog a different letter of the alphabet every day based on a theme of your choice.
It’s not too late to sign up, so check it out:
So guess what my theme is for this month…go on. Guess. Armadillos. Yes, I’m fascinated with these near blind, post apocalypse looking creatures. They’re amazing. I’ve given up my day job to pursue the study and protection of these animals. I never feel more alive than when gazing at the armored beauty of an armadillo.
April Fool’s!
Obviously my theme is going to be writing. So for today, “A,” is About Writing. Writing is something I’ve been doing for a while now. I’ve always enjoyed reading and writing, and enjoy talking to others about it. I know most people who read this blog are also writers on a mostly serious to professional level, but if not, do you write as a hobby? Have you ever tried? If you are a professional writer, how’d you get started? What keeps you going?
Also let me know if you’re doing this blog challenge. I’m anxious to see what everybody comes up with.

Seems like a lot of writers are dong this challenge, not surprised though. Look foward to reading your posts daily.
Me, a writer? Say it isn’t so.
I’ve pretty much wanted to write since I was a kid, but it wasn’t until I became a stay-at-home mom that I started working to fulfill my dreams. My first book came out last fall and the next one is under consideration with a publisher.
I keep going because to not write would be as successful as not breathing.
After stopping here I decided to participate in this challenge too. You can find my first post at http://booktoursandmore.blogspot.com/2011/04/april-2011-to-z-blogging-challenge.html
Good luck!
Sounds like a great challenge and one that I will do on my blog too. Great idea.
I totally believed you about armadillos. I have never been very fascinated with them, but I was prepared to tune in. I’ve been fooled so many times today!
I enjoyed your armadillo tribute – and then your April Fool’s – LOL! Now I want to love armadillos, anyway…
I write dark fantasy, vampire and historical, working towards publication. I’ve been writing since I learned to put sentences together. Can’t help myself.
A Piece of My Mind
I do have an unfinished book I’d like to finish that was started 18 years ago. But I’m more of the reader than the writer.
Good luck with the challenge! Sounds like fun. I wish I had the energy for it.
Lots of luck with your challenge.
Oh, what a fun idea!!!! I would love to join in, but not sure that I could come up with something everyday, lol!!!
I have always been an avid writer since I could hold a pen. I had my first mini story published in a local newspaper when I was 6. Mind you, it was a total one run on sentence, but still cool, none the less, lol. I’ve also had several poems and short stories published in various things throughout school, as well as participating in student writer conferences and groups. *Sigh* That was long ago, however and life has since taken over. I always used writing as an outlet to my emotions and still write when inspiration strikes – though it is usually when I am driving or laying in bed and by the time I have a chance to write it down, the thoughts have fled. Incredibly frustrating, to say the least, lol!!
Hey V! Good to see you back. As you know my writing has taken a turn to the Watchdog blog. That really doesn’t lend itself. I’m also trying to keep up with the other blogs, but it’s been too doggone cold to ride (hence, nothing to blog about) and between watchdog and still dealing with health issues, I’ve not had a lot of time for the blog that does lend itself.
And Daniel? well, he’s still stewing on the back burner.
Once we see some resolution on the issues at Watchdog, I’ll have time for other topics. Watchdog sees to be coming to a conclusion within the next few months, and hopefully by the end of the summer.
Get your results yet from Pike’s Peak? When do they come in?
I wrote a book called Armour Al Meets Caddy Lack about an armadillo. Just Kidding! I love reading the printed word and listening to books on tape. Reading creates mini-movies in my head. I wish I could write—maybe when I retire.
